KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Six civilians were injured in a bomb explosion in the capital of southeastern Khost province on Sunday morning, an official said.
Police had found a plastic bag on the second floor of Salam Market in Khost City and the explosives went off as police tossed the bag away on the same floor, the governor’s spokesman said.
Mubariz Zadran told Pajhwok Afghan News six civilians were injured in the blast that occurred around 9am. The incident is being investigated.
A shopkeeper, Qadir, said he saw some injured people at the market’s gate. It was not a powerful blast but it shattered window glasses on the second floor, he said.
The target was possibly Azizi Bank branch located on third floor of the market, he suspected. The bank’s guards searched visitors on the second floor, he said.
