AIBAK (Pajhwok): Seven people were injured on Friday when a bomb ripped through a mosque in the Dara Sauf Payeen district of Samangan province, the town’s administrative chief said.
Humayun Barlas told Pajhwok Afghan News the explosion took place inside the mosque soon after Friday prayers. The explosion was triggered by a remote-controlled device, he added.
Six civilians and a local police officer were injured in the blast, he said, adding the wounded were evacuated to hospital where they were stated to be in stable condition.
Local officials blamed militants for the blast but Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.
