9 soldiers, several insurgents killed in clashes

KABUL (Pajhwok): At least nine Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers have been killed in separate incidents of violence in different provinces, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said on Saturday.

An MoD statement said the ANA personnel suffered casualties in clashes with militants and roadside bombings during the past 48 hours. Several insurgent were also eliminated, it added.

The brief statement neither put specific figures on casualties among militants nor details about the locations of the incidents.
