KABUL said on Saturday.

Shahidullah Shahid, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman, said Commander Gul Hasan — a resident of Kabul — was killed in the Boya area of the agency two days ago.

He told a Pakistani newspaper the Taliban fighters had captured some areas of the tribal region besides seizing arms and other equipment from the security personnel.

The group also released photographs of the funeral prayers for the slain commander. The TTP chief, Maulana Fazlullah, led the funeral prayer at an undisclosed location.
