KABUL have stormed into Asian Games cricket final after beating Hong Kong in South Korea on Thursday, a board official said.

Afghanistan Cricket Board spokesman Farid Hotak told Pajhwok Afghan News the national side won the toss in the semifinal encounter and opted for fielding.

Hong Kong were restricted to 88 for the loss of eight wickets in the 30-over game. Karim Sadiq, Nasim Barees and Mohammad Nabi took two wickets each for Afghanistan.

Subsequent rain prompted umpires to revise the target for Afghanistan to 82 runs in 15 overs, Hotak said, adding the national squad raced to victory in the 12th over for the loss of only two players.

Winners of the Bangladesh-Nepal seminal will meet Afghanistan in the final. Shahzada Mohammadi top-scored with 43, guiding the Afghans to the final.
