KABUL (Pajhwok): Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah on Sunday said the Afghans would never surrender to the insurgents involved in killing innocent people in suicide attacks and creating insecurity.

Speaking during a meeting in Kabul, Abdullah said a number of civilians had been killed in two separate incidents in Laghman province. He regretted the militants used Islam to kill and harass civilians.

The CEO reiterated he the national unity government’s commitment to ensuring peace in the country, a goal he struggled for in the past too.

“The government condemns the killing and harassment of civilians, whether such acts are committed by the Taliban militants or Islamic State (IS),” he remarked.

No one could achieve power by killing and spreading terror because the nation had awakened and would not surrender to terrorists, the ex-foreign minister maintained. “Oppression and cruelty have no place in Islam and the Afghans don’t accept torture.”
