KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Postal Regulatory Authority (APRA) on Tuesday announced that more than 3.4 million postal packages were delivered last one year.
APRA Director Mir Abdul Rahman Sadri told a press conference that more than 153 million afs revenue had been collected from postal services.
Despite the availability of fast communication tools, APRA was still playing an important role in delivery of letters and parcels, he said. At the international level, 370 billion letters and 6.5 billion parcels were exchanged.
He added more than five million people worked in 640,000 post offices around the world. The conference was attended by officials of Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and representatives of private and government banks.
