KABUL Cricket Board (ACB) on the eve of the Super Sixes Tournament.

Heads of the five zonal clubs received the cricket gear from Deputy Ambassador Shan Flangan in the presence of senior board officials. The event is scheduled to start in Kabul tomorrow

ACB chief Shahzada Massoud, Chief Executive Officer Dr. Noor Mohammad Murad and others were present on the occasion.

Flangan hailed the Afghan team’s achievements at the international level, saying domestic cricket in the war-torn country had progressed.

The twenty20 Super Sixes tournament features five zonal teams and is scheduled to start from tomorrow.

To a question from Pajhwok Afghan News, the Australian diplomat said his country would continue to assist the Afghan cricket board.

He said the Afghan team would be practicing on Australian grounds in the run-up to the 2015 World Cup to be played in Australia and New Zealand.

He said efforts would be made to further strengthen cooperation between the Afghan and Aussie cricket boards.

ACB chief executive Noor Mohammad Murad thanked Australia for the assistance and hoped the country would continue to cooperate with Afghanistan.

Dr. Murad told Pajhwok Afghan News that he had fruitful talks with Australian cricket officials on cooperation with Afghanistan during his trip to the country.
