Oct 13, 2014 - 09:41

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): One civilian was killed and three others wounded when a car suicide attacker targeted a convoy of foreign forces in the capital Kabul along a major highway on Monday, an official said.

Deputy interior minister Gen. Ayub Salangi said the attacker detonated his explosives-laden car close to an ISAF convoy on the Kabul-Jalalabad highway.

The early morning powerful blast took place in the jurisdiction of the 9th police district at around 6.47am.

A resident Zarghona said window glasses of her house were shaken by the impact of the huge blast.

ISAFinfo-icon media office confirmed the attack, saying there were no casualties among international troops.

On Sept. 16, a suicide bomber struck an ISAF convoy, killing two Americans and one Polish soldier, and wounding a dozen civilians.

A series of suicide attacks rocked Kabul City during the inauguration of the new president Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai.
