MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): An armed clash broke out during the university entrance test inside a university in the capital of central Kapisa province on Thursday, leaving five people injured.

The clash inside the Alberoni University took place between bodyguards of the Kohistan-1 district police chief, Mohammad Anwar, and a provincial council member, Mahfooz Sapi.

The exam process, which began a day earlier, concluded in Kapisa on Thursday, said a participant of the test, Himmat.

Himmat said the provincial council member was trying to enter the exam hall, but police guards prevented him.

He said the sides first exchanged harsh words and then resorted to firing. Five people from both the sides were injured in the clash, the student said.

Governor Gen. Mehrabuddin Sapi confirmed the incident and said security forces had reached the scene and were investigating. He said the injured persons had been taken to hospital.
