District education officer shot dead in Ghor

FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen shot dead the education province, officials said on Saturday.   

Col. Sayed Ahmad Salangi, the acting police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News Mullah after night prayers.

The gunmen escaped and an investigation has been launched track them down.   Sibghatullah Akbari, the education director, asked security organs to prosecute the attackers.  

Akbari said: “Militants should not harm education officials because they don’t have any political motive and their only aim is to educate children.”

Last year, an education monitoring officer and a teacher were killed in a blast in Teora district and three other teachers shot dead by militants in Shahrak.
