SHARAN/JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A dozen insurgents, including a commander, have been killed in an airstrike by foreign troops in southeastern Paktika province, an official said on Wednesday.

Deputy police chief Nisar Ahmad Abdul Rahimzai told Pajhwok Afghan News coalition forces conducted the overnight air raid on Haqqani network members in Gayan district.

A resident of the area also confirmed the strike, but had no information about casualties. But the Taliban are yet to comment on the police claim.

In eastern Nangarhar province, one militant was killed and four others were wounded in the Chamtali area of Khogyani district, said Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, the governor’s spokesman.
