FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): One official was killed and another wounded as a result of infighting between security officials in western Farah province, an official said on Monday.

Acting Police Chief Col. Dilbar Jan Khakrezi told Pajhwok Afghan News that Bahai, an official of National Directorate of Security (NDSinfo-icon), and Jamil, a policeman, exchanged harsh words and the brawl developed into an armed clash.

The ensuing gun battle, he said left Jamil dead and Bahai wounded.

Noor Mohammad, a shopkeeper, said: “I saw both the officials firing on one another.”

Dr. Abdul Hakim, director of the civil hospital, said Bahai had been referred to Herat for treatment because he was in critical condition.
