Gambling dispute leaves 1 dead, 2 wounded in Faryab

MAIMANA (Pajhwok): One person was killed and two others wounded in an armed dispute over gambling issue among bodyguards of provincial council head in northwestern Faryab province, an official said Sunday.

The incident took place between security guards of provincial council head, Rahmatullah Turkistani over gambling issue in Imam Sahib area of Pashton Kot district late Saturday, district police chief said.

Lt. Col. Najeebullah told Pajhwok Afghan News one individual was killed and two others, including a shopkeeper, wounded when a dispute over gambling issue between security guards lead to armed clash.

He said the fighting parties left before the police reached the place but efforts were on to detain them.

However, Faryab provincial council head, Rahmatullah Turkistani said he was unaware about the incident.
