KABUL (Pajhwok): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Monday underlined the imperative of greater cooperation and coordination among regional countries in warding off common threats, including terrorism.
Ghani vehemently denounced a massive suicide bombing near the Pakistan and seven children. More than 110 others were injured.
A statement from the Presidential Palace in Kabul said that Ghani was profoundly shocked by the incident. “Our region is faced with serious threats. Joint efforts and coordination are needed to deal with these challenges.”
While extending his heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families, the president — who is expected to visit the neighbouring country in the near future — prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
