GARDIZ (PAJHWOK): The residents of southeastern Paktia province on Sunday demanded of the unity government to provide the educated youth a lion share in jobs and help develop the border province.
Shaista Jan Ahadi, former provincial council head, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incumebtn president had received unprecedented support from Paktia and he should not forget providing job opportunities for the youth.
Dr. Abdul Hadi Hamas, a civil society activist, said the people of Paktia faced multiple problems while supporting President Ghani in the election. The president, he demanded, should give the educated youth employment.
Khawani Jahani, a tribal elder, said the people of Paktia had played a great role in the election and they deserved to be given all possible facilities.
During election campaign, President Ashraf Ghani had promised he would build the Machalgho water dam besides transforming Paktia into a transit province.
