Guard killed as MP survives bomb attack

MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): A lawmaker on Thursday escaped unhurt in a roadside bombing that killed his one guard and injured three others in central Kapisa province, an official said.

Kuchiinfo-icon tribe representative in the Wolesi Jirgainfo-icon or lower house of parliament, Habib Afghan, was travelling in Kor Taz, a mountainous locality east of Mahmood Raqi, the provincial capital, when came under attack in the afternoon, the governor’s spokesman said.

Qais Qadir said the lawmaker was travelling home from Kabulinfo-icon through Kapisa when the blast ripped through his motorcade in the area, killing one of his guards and injuring three others.

The blast hit a vehicle travelling behind Afghan’s car in the convoy, he said.

Public Healthinfo-icon Director Mirza Reja said three wounded persons had been brought to the civil hospital and they were in stable condition.
