TALUQAN (Pajhwok): Police captured a truck and recovered hundreds of kilograms of drugs from it in northern Takhar province on Sunday, an official said.
Police chief Brig. Gen. Abdul Hanan Qataghani told Pajhwok Afghan News four persons had been arrested in connection with the seizure.
The drugs included 332 kilograms of opium, 20 kilograms of heroin and four kilograms of hashish, he said.
Separately, police recovered seven kilograms of opium from a 404 public transport bus, the police chief said, adding four persons had been taken into custody in connection with the smuggling bid.
The detained individuals belong to northeastern Badakhshan and central Parwan provinces.
