KABUL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday said the national infrastructure development plan would be ready over the next six months to revive and develop the country’s infrastructure.

The president said this during a meeting with Kuchi tribe representatives from eastern Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman and Nuristan provinces at the Presidential Palace.

Important construction entrepreneurs such housing would be encouraged under the national infrastructure development plan to build homes for people, airports and others structures, a statement from the Presidential Palace quoted the president as saying.

Before the war in Afghanistan, 65 government-owned entrepreneurs had been active in the country, but their number has reduced to 38.

The Kuchi tribe representatives informed the president about issues concerning security, electricity, health, the statement said.

In response to their grievances, the president said some of their problems would be resolved as soon as possible and others through a long-term planning.
