FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): A new spate of violence has left 10 people dead, including a local judge and five tribal leaders, in western Farah province, an official said on Wednesday.
Jawad Afghan, a spokesman for the governor, told Pajhwok Afghan News unknown gunmen shot dead Maulvi Khuda Dad, a local judge, in the afternoon.
He the shooting took place near a jewellery shop and an investigation was underway.
Five tribal leaders and as many other civilians, died in a rocket attack by the militants on a gathering. Some eyewitnesses, however, claimed that the men died in a roadside bombing followed by a shootout.
