MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): With marked improvement in the security situation, judicial organs in the Alasai district of central Kapisa province have started functioning for the first time, an official said Saturday.
Governor Gen. Mehrabuddin Sapi told Pajhwok Afghan News that more than 100 Afghan Local Police (ALP) personnel had been deployed to the insecure areas of the district.
The establishment of judicial organs would help resolve long-standing disputes of locals, he hoped, saying that rehabilitation activity would also get momentum simultaneously.
Meanwhile, the governor said construction work on a 40-bed hospital, three schools and other welfare projects was underway in the area.
Attaullah, a resident of the district, said they used to visit the provincial capital, Mahmood Raqi, to appear in courts in connection with their cases.
The establishment of the judicial organs was a positive development, he said, adding that people would get justice within their home district.
