KABUL, Pakistani and International Security Assistance Force on Tuesday pledged all-out efforts to battle the scourge of terrorism.

The joint resolve came at a trilateral in the Pakistani capital Islamabad, the Pakistani military spokesman tweeted. Asim Bajwa said measures aimed at better border security came up for discussion.

An ongoing military offensive in Pakistan acknowledged the gains, which had left terrorists degraded.

Bajwa added the Afghan and NATO commanders assured the Pakistan army chief that terrorists would not be allowed to use Afghanistan’s soil. They also expressed their shock at the loss of lives in a recent attack in Peshawar.

Nearly 150 people, including 132 students, were killed on Dec. 16 when the Taliban stormed an army-run school in Peshawar. More than 250 people, mostly students, were wounded in the assault.
