Karzai in Paktika to meet blast victims’ kin

KABUL (Pajhwok): President Hamid Karzai, accompanied by senior officials, on Friday travelled to southeastern Paktika province and met relatives of the victims of a devastating bombing in Orgun district.

At least 42 people were killed and 69 others wounded in the deadly suicide car bombing in Orgun. The fatal was blamed on Pakistan) and the Haqqani network. 

Karzai assured victims’ relatives of government aid and cooperation. He pledged cash assistance to those whose shops were destroyed or damaged in the powerful explosion.

Separately, 1st Vice President Younus Qanuni and Minister of Public Health Dr. Suraya Dalil visited Kabul’s Emergency Hospital to enquire about the health of those wounded in the Orgun blast.

Qanuni provided the injured with cash assistance. Two people were injured as a security convoy of President Hamid Karzai came under rebel attack in the Zurmat district of Paktia province.
