Man kills spouse, escapes along with children

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): An enraged husband killed his wife and fled his home along with five children in southern Kandahar province, the police spokesman said on Monday.

Zia Durrani told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident happened in the Ismail Kulacha village of Dand district. Ahmadullah, a resident of Dehrawud district in Uruzgan province, was living there along with his family.

Durrani had no information why Ahmadullah killed his 28-year-old spouse. But he confirmed police had recovered the dead body and started raids to nab the killer.

Separately, unidentified gunmen shot dead an employee of a wireless company late Sunday evening in Kandahar City, the provincial capital.
