MAIDAN SHAHAR (Pajhwok): Militants have torched the house of a former educationinfo-icon minister in the Syedabad district of central Maidan Wardak province, an official said on Sunday.

Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the house of Farooq Wardak in the Onkhi area of the district was set on fire last night by insurgents.

He said everything inside the house was completely destroyed. No one was residing in the house but one person was guarding the compound.
