KABUL’s recent allegations of cross-border interference, saying the accusations were far from accurate.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said the Pakistani Army tried to dig up tunnels into Kandahar’s Maroof district from the eastern side of the Durand line but the move was resisted by locals.
A statement from the ministry said that gunfire broke out between the locals and Pakistani border guards, which caused casualties on both sides. However, it gave no specific casualty figures.
The MoI rejected the Pakistani claim that militants from Afghanistan attacked its border guards. It directed Afghan security forces to ward off any advance by Pakistani in the border region.
