KABUL) on Sunday claimed recovering some 100 items that were stolen from a foreign military base in Maidan Wardak province.

The gear had been stolen from a NATO base in Syedabad district and seized in Kabul, where NDS official caught the thieves along in Arghanda Square.

An official at the Wardak police headquarters told Pajhwok Afghan News foreign troops had handed the military base to local police recently.

Police chief Khalil Andarabi said he did not have information about the robbery of equipment, but confirmed foreigners had handed over the camp to Afghan forces.

A source, who wished anonymity, revealed orders for carrying the equipment to Kabul had been issued by the district police chief and infrastructure affairs head.

But despite repeated attempts, Pajhwok could not reach the district police chief and infrastructures affairs official for comments.
