KABUL.

Speaking to Yasushi Misawa, the Japanese deputy representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, at the Presidential Palace, Ghani expressed gratitude for Tokyo’s continued support.

A statement from the Presidential Palace said the president informed the Japanese deputy envoy of a comprehensive agenda with regards to peace process, rule of law, good governance, and economic development.

“We are committed to reforms in our system ranging from police salaries to accountability,” he remarked, adding Japan could help his country in creating more job opportunities.

Misawa felicitated the president over the formation of the unity government and peaceful transition of power. He also welcomed Afghanistan’s active diplomacy and assured his country long-term support for Afghanistan.
