KABUL (Pajhwok): The National Security Council (NSC) on Sunday directed the authorities concerned to adopt strict security measures for the protection of key national development projects, the President Palace said.
The NSC meeting, chaired by President Hamid Karzai, directed ministries of interior, defence and the National Directorate of Security to strictly monitor security measures put in place for the Aynak copper mine and the northern crude oil project, the Presidential Palace said in a brief statement.
The meeting also decided to call back public order police personnel from election duty sites to the Mess Aynak mine project.
The NSC members also hailed the decision of the two candidates to ink a power-sharing deal on Sunday.
