KABUL (Pajhwok): Kabul police on Saturday claimed arresting 152 criminals, including a group allegedly involved in children kidnapping, in the capital city.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Police Chief Lt. Gen. Abdul Rahman Rahimi said the suspects have been arrested form different parts of Kabul on charges ranging from murder, kidnapping, weapons to drug smuggling.
A group of six individuals involved in the kidnapping of a child on February 11 had also been nabbed, he said, adding that the child was murdered on the first day of his abduction.
The police chief said 146 criminals confessed to committing crimes during the course of their interrogations. Their cases had been referred to judicial organs, he noted.
Rahimi said police along with others security institutions had been trying to keep the capital city peaceful and the recent detention of criminals was the determination of that resolve.
