KABUL and terrorism in the region, Acting Foreign Minister Zarar Ahmad Osmani said on Thursday.
Speaking at a joint press conference with his Danish counterpart in Kabul, Osmani said that the president’s visit to Pakistan would be fruitful and would help improve security situation in the country.
“No doubt Afghanistan has concerns about the presence of Taliban and other terrorists on the Pakistani soil. We can succeed in our endeavours to defeat terrorism with the help of Pakistan,” he added.
Osmani said Afghanistan was keen on cooperating with Pakistan in addressing the problem of terrorism in the region.
Danish Foreign Minister Marting Lidegaard said cooperation, coordination and trust on the regional level was needed for better security in Afghanistan.
He stressed Afghanistan and Pakistan needed to further strengthen their economic ties, which he said was in the interest of both the countries.
He cited China’s interest to invest in Afghanistan as a good example about regional cooperation.
