SHARAN (Pajhwok): The new governor on Monday said organised plans and better administrative management could help develop all sectors of southeastern Paktika province.

Abdul Karim Matin, who replaces Mohibullah Samim, said the provincial five-year development plan would ensure supremacy of law and good governance.

The expansion of government’s writ, rule of law and work on infrastructure development projects and banishing corruption from government departments were a joint responsibility of the state and the masses, he said.

With an area covering 19515 kilometers square, Paktika sits next to the poorly-marked Durand Line, said Wasifullah Wasifi, the provincial technical sector head.

He said ensuring rule of law, good governance, appointing eligible persons on all government positions were part of the provincial five-year development plan.
