JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A crime branch chief was among three others wounded in an explosion that left his brother dead in eastern Nangarhar province on Saturday, officials said.
Provincial police spokesman Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal told Pajhwok Afghan News that one person was killed and another wounded when a magnetic bomb fixed to a corolla car went off in the Torkham bus stand.
The explosion took place on the outskirts of Jalalabad, the provincial capital, at around 8am.
Deputy police chief Col. Ghulam Rabbani said the blast targeted the crime branch chief for Behsud district.
The crime branch chief and a woman suffered injuries but his brother instantly died in the blast.
Dr. Hamayun Zahir, Nangarhar civil hospital director, confirmed receiving one dead body and three wounded persons.
