KABUL Breshna Shirkat (ABS) on Tuesday announced restoring the supply of 80 megawatts of electricity to Kabul.
A couple of weeks back, heavy snowfall and avalanches in the Salang district of central Parwan province uprooted three pylons and damaged several others carrying 300 megawatts of electricity from Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
ABS Director Mirwais Alami told Pajhwok Afghan News an engineering team of his department had been able to restore the supply of 80 megawatts of electricity to the capital city at around 3:00pm.
Due to heavy snowfall and difficult terrain the complete restoration of power supply would take three weeks, he explained.
