FARAH CIY (Pajhwok): The month’s long electoral crisis has left negative impact on every field of life and discouraged masses to extend that the people of western Farah province said did not believe anymore on the election phenomenon.

“We hate hearing election related news and stories anymore,” they added. It merits mention that the presidential election went to second round when none of the contestant gained 50+1 votes in the April 5 vote.

In the second round of ballot, the Change and Continuity team grabbed majority of votes and subsequently declared winner by the Independent Election Commission (IEC).

However the Reforms and Continuity team, led by Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, did not accept the result and threatened to create a parallel government.

The issue was then resolved following mediation by John Kerry, the US sectary of State, with both teams agreed to audit of all votes and forming a unity government.

Javed Tabish, a civil society activist, said delay in election result was threatening security and economy of the country. He added the IEC was unable to manage things, which led to meddling by foreign organization in the election affairs.
