TALUQAN (Pajhwok): Some residents on Sunday rallied for the removal of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) chief for northern Takhar province.
The protestors alleged that NDS head Gen. Najibullah Najib had beaten and expelled his deputy Dr. Sarwar from his office in an insulting manner.
Ziaul Haq, one of the rally participants, told Pajhwok Afghan News Najib had committed an inhuman act by insulting his deputy who is a tribal elder as well.
Dr. Mohibullah Katawazai, another protestor, asked the government to investigate the issue and punish the NDS chief. He warned of more protests if their call was ignored.
The NDS chief said he had been told to come to Kabul in connection with the incident. He will reveal facts at a press conference, the official added.
