KABUL (Pajhwok): Maidan Wardak’s newly-elected provincial council head escaped unhurt in a magnetic bomb explosion in Kabul on Saturday, an official said.
The blast occurred at around 01:00pm in front of the Pul-i-Khishti Masjid, police chief Hashmat Stanikzai told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Attaullah Khogyani, the Wardak governor’s spokesman, confirmed the incident, saying the explosion took place inside a police vehicle in Kabul.
He said Sharifullah Hotak, who was recently elected as provincial council head, was travelling in the vehicle to Kabul, where wanted to purchase uniforms for his guard.
According to Khogyani, Hotak escaped unhurt as he was shopping at the time of the explosion, but part of the vehicle was damaged.
Seven people, including an officer of Afghan National Army (ANA), were wounded in a separate blast in Kabul this morning.
