FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Gang-raped after being kidnapped in western Farah province, a female university student on Wednesday threatened she would commit suicide if the government failed to arrest and award harsher punishment to her rapists.

Nazneen, 20, a second-year student of literature, was kidnapped along with her 18-year old brother last Thursday and was gang raped.

“They destroyed my life. The government must provide me justice and punish my rapists otherwise I will commit suicide,” the wailing girl told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Hafizullah, Nazaneen’s brother, said he and his sister were on their way home on a motorbike when three armed men kidnapped them from the Sultan Mir locality of the provincial capital, Farah City.

“They first injured me with a knife and then took us to an unknown location. They left me somewhere on the way but took my sister with them,” he recalled.

Nazaneen’s father, however, said one of the suspects had been arrested and the remaining two were still at large. Farah police said it was a family feud.

According to provincial Women.
