JALALABAD/MAHMUD RAQI (Pajhwok): At least five civilians, including two students, were killed and three others wounded in separate incidents of violence in different parts of the country, officials said Sunday.
Three people were killed and as many wounded in a militant attack on an Afghan Local police (ALP) convoy in central Kapisa province, Syed Abbas Sadat, the crime branch chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News. Gunfire erupted after militants attacked the ALP convoy on its way to Alasai district.
Elsewhere, two school students were killed by unidentified gunmen in the Khogyani district of eastern Nangarhar province. Haji Niamat, the district’s administrative chief, said that gunmen shot dead a student of 11th class and stolen his car.
In another incident, rebels gunned down another student at the Barbahar high school when he was going to appear in his examination.
Dr. Noor Agha, director at district hospital, said the bodies—both 18 years old— were brought in to the hospital.
Taliban have not yet commented on the incidents.
