Talks with Taliban to yield positive outcome: Masood

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Ahmadzia Masood, the president advisor for reforms and good governance, on Saturday hoped that peace talks with Talibaninfo-icon would yield positive results.

Talking to reports in Kabul, Masood said: “Thanks to almighty Allah, we got positive messages with regard to peace process from various sources. I hope durable peace will be established soon throughout the country.”

Earlier in the day, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani during a news conference with the visiting US defence secretary, said: “Ground has been paved for result-oriented peace talks, which are in the interests of Afghans.”

Also a presidential palace statement said that President Ghani appreciated Pakistaninfo-icon’s recent efforts in paving the ground for peace and reconciliation. “We welcome the recent position Pakistan has taken in pronouncing Afghanistaninfo-icon’s enemy as Pakistan’s,” the statement added.
