KABUL Minister Farooq Wardak on Sunday said all teachers would be receiving soon their salaries under the new grading system.

In a message on World Teachers Day, Wardak congratulated teachers on the day, which was marked across the country on Sunday.

“The job of teachers is very sacred and respectful. Our Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) held teachers in high esteem,” said the acting minister, who praised teachers for pushing the education caravan ahead in the country.

So far 186,000 teachers have been entered into the new grading and salary system under which the teachers would receive their salaries with 78 percent increase.

Additionally, Wardak said 17500 teachers, who had qualified the capacity evaluation test, would be soon included in the new system.

To improve their living standard, the acting education minister said 105,000 teachers had been allotted land plots in various provinces and the process to distribute plots to the remaining teachers was underway.

“The land distribution process will continue until every teacher is given a piece of land to build a house,” Wardak promised.
