Teenage girl molested, killed in Takhar

TALUQAN (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen in the Ishkashim district of northern Takhar province killed a 14-year-old girl after she was sexually assaulted, an official said on Saturday.

 Police Chief Maj. Gen. Abdul Hanan Qataghani told reporters Parwana, the slain girl, was the resident of Boryabaf locality and was engaged recently.

He recalled Parwana was kidnapped from her home and took her to a jungle where she was raped and found murdered. He added police had arrested two persons, including the victim’s brother-in-law, for interrogation.

The victim’s family members confirmed that some assailants stormed their house in the evening and took Parwana with them.

According to the women affairs department, it was 21^st incident of its nature to be registered in the ongoing year.
