KABUL) headquarters in Kabul had to be suspended on Wednesday to train representatives of the presidential candidates and election observers, an official said.
Wishing anonymity, the official told Pajhwok Afghan News the review process was halted on Tuesday afternoon.
The suspension was aimed at training representatives of the presidential candidates and election observers and the process might not resume today, the official said.
The audit process of the vote was begun on July 17 with the presence of Afghan and international election observers.
On July 19, the recount was temporarily stopped due to misunderstandings between the two presidential candidates, but resumed within 24 hours.
The commission had then said that there were 23,000 ballot boxes and it would take three to four weeks to audit them all.
