KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): A seven-day cleanliness campaign has been launched in the capital of southeastern Khost province, with hundreds of residents partaking, the mayor said on Friday.
Karamat Khan Khpalwak told Pajhwok Afghan News the drive would be launched every weekends to keep the capital city clean and beautiful.
He said hundreds of people from social networks, business community and municpilatiy workers took part in the drive. “We want to include Khost City among the most clean cities of the country by 2015,” Khpalwak added.
A lawmaker from Khost promised his all-out support to make the drive a sucess.
Muhammad Asif, a participant, said it was their moral duty to take part in such effors . “We want all citizens to come and play their part in national and the country’s rebuilding process,” he noted.
