QALAT (Pajhwok): Provincial council head for southern Zabul province escaped unhurt in a bomb attack on Saturday morning, an official said.

Haji Atta Jan, the provincial council head, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the car he was traveling in hit by a bomb but he escaped unhurt in Shah Joy district at around 7: 00 am this morning.

He said two of his bodyguards sustained injuries and shifted to a hospital for treatment. District police Chief Mohammadullah Ahmadi said that Jan was invited by his relatives last night.
