Zakhilwal named economic advisor

KABUL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai has appointed former finance minister Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal as acting finance minister and his advisor on economic affairs, the Cabinet Secretariat said on Tuesday.

Earlier, the new president appointed his rival in the election, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, as executive chief officer and his running mates Eng. Mohammad Khan and Mohammad Mohaqiq as his deputies.

Ahmadzai also issued decrees appointing Ahmad Zia Massoud as his advisor on reforms and good governance and Mohammad Hanif Atmar as national security advisor.
