JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Three children were killed and six others wounded in a bomb blast in eastern Nangarhar province on Saturday, an official said.
Numan Hatifi, spokesman of the 201st Sailab Military Corps, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place when a roadside bomb hit a civilian car in Hasham Khel area of Sherzad district.
Three children were killed and six others including two men were wounded in the incident. The wounded were evacuated to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Taliban have not commented on the incident as of yet.
Separately, a would-be suicide bomber was arrested in Kabul. The pair was detained before they reached their intended target.
The pair was planning to carry out a suicide attack in a crowded place in Kabul City but the plot was foiled, the statement added.
The bomber was identified as Abdul Rahman alias Haidari and Hanif while his accomplice Abdul Rahim popularly known as Ajmal.
The statement said Abdul Rahim confessed he was directed by a commander Sabrullah Zadran, member of Haqqani Network, to carry out the attack in Kabul.
