AIBAK (Pajhwok): At least three people lost their lives and 11 others were wounded in a traffic accident on the Samangan-Mazar highway, officials said on Thursday.

Col. Abdul Qadir Panjsheri, Samangan traffic department head, told Pajhwok Afghan News the accident took place on Wednesday night in Hazrat Sultan district.

He said a passenger bus collided with two trucks because of its high speed. A woman and two men were among the dead, he added.

Panjsheri said the wounded were shifted to hospital in Samangan. Hospital officials said three of the wounded were in critical condition and had been transferred to Balkh.

All passengers, residents of Faryab province, were on their way to Mazar-i-Sharif and Kabul.

Two month back also, in a similar accident in Aibak city two people were killed and 13 more wounded.
