Official among 3 electrocuted in Faryab incidents

MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Three people including an employee of the Energy and Water Department of northern Faryab province lost their lives after being electrocuted in two separate incidents, officials said on Thursday.

The incidents took place in Andkhoi district and Maimana, the provincial capital. Syed Sanjar, Andkhoi district chief, said two people were killed and a third wounded after their vehicle’s crane touched an electricity line.

Meanwhile, an employee of the Energy and Water Department was killed after climbing a transmission tower.

Syed Abdul Hamid, the department head, said the employee had climbed the tower before the power supply was cut. After being electrocuted, he fell to death from 20 metres height, he added.
