KABUL (Pajhwok): Seventy-two militants and seven national policemen have been killed in clearing operations in different provinces, the Ministry of Defence said on Monday.
The operations were conducted in the past 72 hours in Kandahar, Zabul, Faryab, Logar and Ghazni provinces, which left 50 militants dead, a statement from the ministry said.
Separately, 22 insurgents and three army soldiers were killed some, 17 bombs defused and three militant hideouts destroyed in Sangin, Garmser, Nawa and Marja districts of Helmand.
